Pickup bus/taxi and safty

I have for a long time seen how people in Thailand sit in the back off almost everything that moves.
Backsit in Taxi without safty belt. 2 people and 3 kids on 1 motorcycle or 25 people on the back of a pickup.

And i have wonder if there never have been any accident. Well to day i read this.

Maybe foreigner also should be careful when they take pickup "bus/taxi" . What happen if the tire explode and you sit back on a pickup without any safty belt?
